The story
East of Skardu, Khaplu opens as a cultivated valley floor under high rock walls. Visitors come for Khaplu Palace, village walks, and as a staging area toward Hushe and expedition approaches. Expect thinner hotel density than Skardu town and plan jeep logistics for side valleys. Most trips overnight at least once rather than treating Khaplu as a same-day out-and-back.
