Chilas, Fairy Meadows and Nanga Parbat corridor

Diamer logistics: KKH to Chilas or Raikot, jeep to Tato, trek to Fairy Meadows. Not a casual day trip and not Astore’s Rupal face.

• Origin: Islamabad
• Duration: 4–6 days
• Best season: May–October; confirm the Tato jeep track
• Vehicle: KKH car plus a hired jeep; last mile is a trek
• Family: Only for groups comfortable with a steep jeep and a hike to the meadow
• Adventure: Serious last mile — not a picnic

Rough budget: Jeep and hut rates change — confirm at Raikot; no invented PKR

Weather buffer: If the jeep is off, stay in Chilas and visit petroglyphs instead of forcing the meadow

1. KKH to Chilas

   Long drive. Overnight in Chilas. Petroglyphs if you arrive with light.

   Overnight: Chilas · Besham or Babusar routing by season

2. Raikot to Fairy Meadows

   Jeep toward Tato, then trek to the meadow. This is Diamer, via the Rakhiot corridor.

   • Fairy Meadows · Diamer / Chilas

3. Meadow day

   Viewpoint walks. Beyal / Rakhiot base camp is a harder add-on, not a casual stroll.

   Overnight: Fairy Meadows · On foot

   • Nanga Parbat Base View (optional) · Diamer / Chilas
   • Fairy Meadows to Rakhiot Base Camp (optional) · Diamer / Chilas

4. Out and south or to Gilgit

   Trek and jeep out with daylight. Do not stack a Hunza night the same evening.

   Overnight: Chilas or Gilgit · KKH

   • Gilgit Valley (optional) · Gilgit
